Description
Rheem-Ruud AP11941 Piezo Ignitor is a spark generation element that is used to provide ignition to gas burners in heating parts. When mechanical pressure is exerted on a piezoelectric element, a high-voltage spark is generated and the electrical discharge is focused through an electrode placed close to the pilot or burner system of HVAC systems. The ignitor is attached to the electrode lead and mounting bracket in the burner compartment and the spark is conducted to the ignition point of the gas. This is a controlled generation of spark, which allows the ignition of the burner flame and allows the ignition to be consistent during heating system startup.
